Vinyl Pirates, Rock n’ Roll From 60’s-80’s

Vinyl Pirates have been entertaining Southern California audiences since 2010 with a treasure trove of memorable, danceable chart hits from the ‘60s to ‘80s. Unique among cover bands, the band largely eschews the typical 60-song list of over-played “standards” in favor of infectious hits and often overlooked tunes that audiences rarely get to hear, yet always enjoy. While Vinyl Pirates’ 100+ song list includes a smattering of standards such as “Stuck In The Middle” and “Evil Ways”, you’re more likely to hear great, rarely-covered tunes such as The Bee Gee’s “Nights on Broadway”, Alan Parsons Project’s “Eye In The Sky”, Golden Earring’s “Radar Love”, Badfinger’s “Baby Blue”, Modern English’s “(I’ll Stop The World and) Melt With You”, or Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart’s “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight”, among many others.

The band members include Victor Penalosa (drums), Chris Iandolo (bass, vocals), Scott Samuels (guitar, vocals), and Scott Spindler (keyboards, vocals), each well-known, accomplished musicians on the San Diego music scene. They truly enjoy sharing their love of rock and roll with their audiences, which shows in their lively, humorous and entertaining stage banter, the music trivia injected into their shows, and their meticulous recreations of the rock classics performed.
